RENO, Nev. (KOLO) - Washoe County Sheriff Darin Balaam and University of Nevada, Reno, mascot Wolfie Jr. have thrown down a challenge to Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department Sheriff Kevin McMahill ahead of the Saturday, Nov. 29, Mackay Stadium matchup between the Wolf Pack and “that other team from down south … the one with the letters UNL-something."

In the spirit of friendly rivalry, Balaam made the stakes simple, according to a Washoe County Sheriff’s Office Facebook post .

The sheriff representing the losing team has to wear their rival’s jersey for a day.

“And let’s just say, we hope Sheriff McMahill looks good in blue, because we already have a University of Nevada jersey picked out and ready for him when the Pack brings home the Fremont Cannon tonight,” the post said.
