STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — The St. George Theatre will host “A Rock’n Holiday Spectacular” on Friday, Dec. 5, marking the first Staten Island performance by The DooWop Project.

The DooWop Project draws inspiration from inner city African American vocal groups including The Del Vikings, The Marcels, The Tymes, and later The Four Seasons. The group captures the classic sounds of vocalists who harmonized on stoops, in subways, and on street corners.

The evening will also feature Bobby Wilson, son of Jackie Wilson, along with The Coasters, Vito Picone & The Elegants, The Chiclettes, and Sounds of the Streets. Staten Island native Vinnie Medugno will host the show. Medugno hosts a nationally syndicated radio program on Music Radio 77 WABC every Saturday at 5 p.m.
