WASHINGTON — American Airlines says all of its affected aircraft are now back in service after a widespread Airbus software problem forced carriers around the world to ground planes during one of the busiest travel weekends of the year.
The airline confirmed Saturday that all 209 A320-family aircraft impacted by the Airbus recall have now received the required software fix, according to a statement shared with CNBC.
“As of 12 p.m. CT, no aircraft were left to be updated of the 209 impacted,” the company said. “American expects no further operational impact related to the Emergency Airworthiness Directive and looks forward to the remaining days of the Thanksgiving holiday travel period, especially Sunday, our most-traveled day.”
