AUSTIN, Texas (KBTX) - Like a stadium-vibrating blast from Texas’ Smokey the Cannon, Battered Aggie Syndrome came roaring back in full effect Friday for a fanbase that thought their existential dread was dead and buried.
No. 17 Texas handed No. 3 Texas A&M its first loss of the season, souring — at least for the meantime — the joyride that has been an 11-0 run through the beginning of the season. There will be no berth into a conference title game for the first time this century. Most likely, there will be no trip to New York for quarterback Marcel Reed when the Heisman Trophy is handed out.
