CLEVELAND, Ohio — Is it possible for Shedeur Sanders to play well enough over the final six games of the season that the Browns will scrap plans to draft a quarterback in the first round?
It’s entirely possible, even though the Browns acquired the extra first round pick in the trade with the Jaguars so they’re positioned to grab one of the top quarterbacks in the draft. They slipped to No. 6 in the first round with their victory over the 2-9 Raiders, and also have the No. 22 pick from the Jaguars.
I personally think they should still draft a quarterback with one or both of those picks, because seven starts — if Sanders finishes out the season - is still a small sample size for a rookie quarterback. I don’t think another position trumps QB in the first round if you’re not sure you have yo
