One more win, and Pitt would’ve had a chance at the ACC championship. One more win, and the Panthers would’ve had their first nine-win regular season since 2021. One more win, and there would have been redemption from earlier in the season.

Unfortunately, Pat Narduzzi’s squad couldn’t find one more win. All of the issues Pitt had throughout the season — penalties, poor rushing, a lackluster secondary, injuries — came into play against Miami on Saturday. Starters Desmond Reid and Sean FitzSimmons didn’t play. Jimmy Scott and Nick James got hurt and never returned, weakening an already thin defensive line.
