Former Formula 1 driver Adrian Sutil has been arrested on suspicion of fraud and embezzlement following an international raid across three countries, according to reports in Germany.

The driver, who raced on the F1 grid for seven years after making his debut in 2017, was detained by German police on Thursday. He was arrested as a raid hit three addresses. One in Monaco, another in Switzerland and also Sindelfingen in Germany, which is where the 42-year-old was found.

An arrest warrant had been issued for the Sutil, who it is now said is in pre-trial detention in a Baden-Württemberg prison, reports Bild . According to investigators
