TUSCARAWAS TWP. – Going once … going twice … Stark County's oldest winery has sold for $2,056,076.
Perennial Vineyards at 11877 Poorman St. SW went up for auction on Nov. 29, offering 92 rolling acres of farmland and history to the highest bidder.
The auction was held by Kiko Auctions. Pete Kiko Jr., auctioneer, said interest in the property was strong leading up to auction day.
"People showed up to look at the winery equipment, the real estate," Kiko said while preparing for the auction. "It seems like it's been good interest, but today is game day."
The auction kicked off at 10:30 a.m. with smaller items, including tools, furniture and artwork. By 11 a.m., bidding shifted to the real estate parcels, lasting until about noon.
