A easyJet plane flying from Spain to Liverpool was forced to divert to France after crew declared an emergency. The flight from Alicante to Liverpool John Lennon Airport set off at 11.30am central European time, and was supposed to land three hours later.

However, the plane was forced to change route while flying over the Bay of Biscay, off the western coast of France, due to a medical emergency onboard. It landed at Bordeaux Airport at 1.25pm CET, according to the AIRLIVE Aviation news network.

An easyJet spokesman said: “Flight EZY3356 from Alicante to Liverpool on 28 November diverted to Bordeaux and requested an expedited landing due to a passenger on board requiring urgent medical assis
