In the heart of the Midlands lies a small town that was once a haven for shopping, but in recent years, locals say it has declined - a tale all too familiar with UK high streets. Leamington Spa is known for its polished look, but those living there say it has seen better days - and that they probably wouldn't visit if they were tourists. With a population of 50,000, the town is now poised to undergo a major project in the next few years.
It was a grey day when we visited, but the dull weather didn't stop people from coming out onto the high street for a bit of shopping or some lunch. Under the archways of the grand town hall stands Chris King, deputy leader for Warwick District Council. Chris is passionate about the potential the town has, and he's confident in the plans to revive it.
