A man was shot and killed by police in San Bernardino on Friday evening, Nov. 28 after pointing a rifle at officers responding to an armed robbery at a convenience store, police said.

At around 6:00 p.m., officers were patrolling the 300 block of Northpark Boulevard when they were flagged down about a robbery in progress at the Express Market at 304 West Northpark Blvd., the San Bernardino Police Department said in a statement.

Officers pulled into the parking lot and encountered the suspect, who was armed with a rifle, police said. When the man pointed the weapon at officers, they shot him.

The suspect was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
