STEVENS COUNTY, Wash. -- One person was injured and multiple dogs were killed in an RV fire north of Springdale on Sunday morning.

According to Stevens County Fire District 4, crews responded to the fire off of Jump Off Road.

The RV was occupied and fully involved when crews arrived.

One person suffered minor injuries.

A female dog and a couple new puppies died in the fire. Five new puppies were saved and taken by the owner to the veterinarian for treatment.

Fire District 4 says the fire started because of a propane space heater.

The Red Cross was called to help with the scene.
