SPOKANE COUNTY, Wash. — Spokane County Prosecuting Attorney Donald C. Brockett has passed away at the age of 89.

According to Brockett's obituary, he passed away on Nov. 14 from cancer. He was surrounded by family.

Brockett was known as the prosecuting attorney for the 1981 rape trial for Spokane's South Hill Rapist Kevin Coe. He was a prosecuting attorney for more than 34 years.

Brockett is survived by his wife of 66 years, his children, his 13 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
