The Allen County Sheriff’s Department on Sunday asked for help identifying a driver who crashed a truck into a deputy vehicle.

The crash happened about 9:20 p.m. Saturday at the intersection of Wallen and Lima roads. The truck turned “directly in front of our patrol vehicle, causing a significant collision,” the sheriff’s department said in an email.

The driver immediately left the scene, the email said. The crash was captured by the deputy’s dash camera. That footage was shared by the sheriff’s department on its Facebook page at www.facebook.com/share/v/1FfxT3NxWX/ .

Investigators are searching for a dark-colored Ford F-250 or F-350 with a red plow on the front and a salt spreader on the back. The area received several inches of snow Saturday.
