LANSING, Mich. (WILX) - The roads were busy Thanksgiving weekend, as people finished up their holiday travels. But some drivers also faced challenges navigating through the winter weather.

For Michiganders, driving through the snow is nothing new. But the first snow that sticks can still be a shock. Even experienced drivers cannot control how the weather impacts the roads.

Moore spent the morning driving from Grand Rapids to a Friendsgiving in Detroit. She says the highways weren’t bad, but the off roads weren’t fully plowed and difficult to manage.

“We saw a car flip over into the ditch. And... there were a few people that got out to help them with stuff. But, yeah, that was pretty crazy,” said Moore.
