INDIANAPOLIS — Family Promise of Greater Indianapolis (FPGI) just received a $1.25 million grant from Jeff Bezos and his wife Lauren Sánchez Bezos' foundation, Bezos Day 1 Families Fund .

Officials with FPGI said the homeless shelter will use the grant money over the next five years to expand its capacity to house families with children who are experiencing homelessness in central Indiana.

The shelter said they also want to emphasize helping families achieve homeownership.
