WASHINGTON — Maj. Gen. Jim Seward, adjutant general of the West Virginia National Guard, said he and the Guard are “absolutely overwhelmed at the outpouring of support from the President, senior government and military officials, National Guardsmen from other states, communities in West Virginia and private citizens throughout America.”

Seward spoke in a video message from the nation’s capital following the Nov. 26 shooting of two West Virginia National Guardsmen.

“Governor Morrissey and I have been in the District of Columbia to lend support to their families and our West Virginia National Guardsmen who are still on duty safeguarding the citizens of the District,” he said.
