DULUTH — A Duluth-based nonprofit is receiving a $2.5 million grant to expand its emergency family shelter and support services for children and families in Northwestern Minnesota.
Chum, the largest emergency shelter and service provider for people experiencing homelessness north of the Twin Cities, said in a news release that Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez Bezos are recognizing the organization with a $2.5 million grant from the Bezos Day 1 Families Fund.
“This is a once-in-a-lifetime gift that will certainly change the trajectory of many lives,” John Cole, executive director of Chum, said in the release.
