DALLAS — Still intoxicated with the euphoria of another unexpected victory, first-year Cowboys coach Brian Schottenheimer handed out the game balls in the locker room and then expressed in his postgame news conference that his team was willing to play any opponent anywhere in the league, and the obvious implication was his team would emerge the winner.
Schottenheimer’s captivating and bold enthusiasm was more controlled when I asked him at the beginning of this week about his team’s improving chances of overtaking the Eagles to win the NFC East.
