Birmingham's own Karen Carney has been waltzing, jiving and quickstepping her way through Strictly Come Dancing over the last 10 weeks - and it appears as if she has now taken top spot as the potential winner.

Karen, 38, who was born in Solihull , has been dancing through the show alongside her partner, Carlos Gu, with the couple scoring a huge 40 in the most recent episode.

Carlos and Karen's Couple's Choice saw them skyrocket to the top of the leader board before the Instant Dance challenge, when their scores from last week and this week were combined.

This action was taken after the Blackpool show last week when La Voix was forced to drop out, causing bosses to delay an elimination until Week 10.
