The Ontario coroner's inquest looking into the circumstances leading up to the death of a woman in police custody continued Monday with testimony from one of the officers in charge of guarding her at the London jail.
Inquests are held before a jury of five community members and are mandatory for people who die in police custody. Amanda Bolt, 28, went into medical distress while incarcerated and died in hospital 10 days later.
Sgt. Kevin Lui was one of two detention unit officers overseeing Bolt's care during the two days she was in jail. Lui had previously been charged with failing to provide Bolt with the necessaries of life, but those charges were dropped.
