Mercer Islanders will have multiple events to check out this holiday season.

In the upcoming days and weeks, there will be tree and menorah lightings, a Holiday Makers Market, a Community Holiday Party and a visit from the Argosy Christmas Ship. Mercer Island Girl Scouts will also be running a toy drive in early December.

Mercer Island’s Recreation Program Supervisor Katie Herzog gave the Reporter a rundown on the gatherings that will be filling locals’ calendars and bringing the community together.

TREE LIGHTING

First up is the Annual Holiday Tree Lighting of the massive sequoia at 5:30 p.m. Dec. 4 at Mercerdale Park. The event will feature the Mercer Island High School choir, Creation Dance Studio performances, vendor booths, an Eastside Fire and Rescue truck for attendees to visit a
