TWIN FALLS COUNTY, Idaho — In winter of 2024 , there were 12 snowplow-related traffic incidents in the Gem State. This winter has already had its first reported crash of the season.

The Twin Falls County Sheriff's Office (TFCSO) said a plow-related incident took place on U.S. Highway 93 just after 5 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 30.

"These incidents are preventable," the sheriff's office said on social media.

Twin Falls officials, along with the Idaho Transportation Department, want all Idahoans to safely reach their destinations safety this winter.

TFCSO provided the following tips and seasonable reminders on how drivers can help prevent snowplow crashes:

Give plows room to work, as Idaho law requires drivers to stay back and not crowd or pass a snowplow when visibility is limited.
