A gas line was damaged in Fort Worth on Monday, according to Atmos Energy.

The natural gas line was ruptured at the intersection of South Main and West Leuda streets.

A construction crew unrelated to Atmos Energy damaged the Atmos-owned natural gas line.

Atmos dispatched personnel to suspend natural gas service to the part of the system, inspected the line and is making necessary repairs.

As a precaution, several buildings near the line have been evacuated by the fire department, according to Atmos.

The order will remain in place until Atmos technicians have made the necessary repairs.
