BRAINERD — Temperatures in the Brainerd lakes should stay well below average not just the rest of this week but into next week, too.

The average high temperature this time of year in the Brainerd area is around 30 degrees, but a look at the forecast from the National Weather Service in Duluth shows no sign of temps being anywhere near that. The closest is 26 degrees on Friday, Dec. 5.

High temperatures this week and into the weekend are forecast to be 22 degrees Tuesday, 15 degrees Wednesday, 16 degrees Thursday, 26 degrees Friday, 20 degrees Saturday and 10 degrees Sunday.
