GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB) - An undocumented immigrant living in North Central Florida was sentenced to federal prison for sexting a detective he thought was an underage girl.

Khadim Rassol Gueye, 26, a citizen of Senegal, was sentenced to 21 months in prison after pleading guilty to sharing obscene material with a minor on a messaging app.

Prosecutors say Gueye believed he was chatting with a 13-year-old girl, but was actually communicating with an agent with Homeland Security.

Gueye will also serve three years of supervised release and must register as a sex offender.
