TOLEDO, Ohio — Toledo police are looking for answers after a person was found dead in downtown Toledo this weekend.
A police report said the unknown male appeared to be homeless, and he was pronounced dead at the scene in the 1100 block of Madison Avenue on Sunday afternoon.
“This is such a tragic situation to find anybody — a person experiencing homelessness or not — to find them like this on the street. It’s just sad,” Joe Habib, the CEO of St. Paul's Community Center, a homeless shelter in Toledo, just blocks from where the male was found.
“One time to find it or see it is one time too many. Every few years, we hear news like this and it always breaks our heart," Habib added. "There’s no way to describe it. This is a human being. This is somebody who probably came in here for lunch a
