SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (KY3) - The Springfield-Greene County Library District launched a food drive Monday to address ongoing food insecurity in the community.

The two-week drive runs through the first half of December. The library district partnered with the Ozarks Area Community Action Corporation to collect donations following interruptions to SNAP benefits.

Organizers request donations of canned foods, just-add-water soups or mixes, snack packs, and similar items. OACAC will distribute collected items at its main facility, area pantries, and Head Start locations.
