SEDALIA, Mo - A Sedalia man made his initial court appearance in Pettis County this morning following a domestic assault over the holiday weekend.
According to a probable cause statement, Sedalia Police were dispatched Friday afternoon to a reported hostage situation. The female victim had escaped the situation and was able to speak with responding officers.
She reported that her ex-boyfriend Donald Ray Knox Jr. had requested to speak with her Thursday night and she initially refused. Knox proceeded to pepper spray a neighbor resulting in the victim driving him back to his residence. When they arrived at Knox's residence they argued and he then assaulted her resulting in damage.
