AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) — Several warming centers have opened across the Augusta area to provide shelter from cold weather conditions.
Daytime warming centers are operating at the Carrie J. Mays Center, Bernie Ward Center and Henry Brigham Center.
Overnight shelters are available at the Augusta Rescue Mission, Garden City Rescue Mission and The Salvation Army Center of Hope.
Clearance is required to stay at warming centers. Residents can obtain clearance at the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office.
Augusta Transit is providing free rides to overnight warming centers between 3 p.m. and 8 p.m.
