New LSU football head coach Lane Kiffin said he almost fell victim to throwing on a fake Cajun accent during his first night in Baton Rouge on Sunday.
In his introductory press conference on Monday afternoon, Kiffin joked with local and national media after hearing a number of LSU fans yell “Geaux Tigers,” that he wanted to talk like former LSU football coach Ed Orgeron.
“Actually, we were going by Tiger Stadium, and I called one person,” Kiffin said. “I called Ed Orgeron. And I said, ‘Hey, man. All I can do - this place just makes me want to talk like you right now.’”
Kiffin then leaned back, as attendees in the room began to laugh, and he leaned back with his palms up.
