Clarabella Hall in action for Cheltenham Town Women

Cheltenham Town swept aside bottom-of-the-table Billericay Town with a controlled 3-0 victory at Kayte Lane on Sunday afternoon in the FA Women’s National League Southern Premier Division.

Goals from Megan Arnott, Emily Owen and Clarabella Hall lifted the Robins to fifth in the standings, while continuing Billericay’s difficult start to life at this level.

The Essex-based club had conceded 63 times in their opening 10 games before arriving in Gloucestershire.

Cheltenham were on the front foot from the start, creating a flurry of early chances that were either saved or blocked by a surprisingly resilient Billericay defence.

But the breakthrough always felt inevitable and it came from a corner delivered by Anais Trinci.
