LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Authorities have identified the 77-year-old man killed in a north Lincoln camper fire on Friday.

Around 2 p.m., Lincoln Fire & Rescue and the Lincoln Police Department were called to a parking lot near 27th and Theresa streets.

According to LFR, while the initial engine crew was working to control the flames, firefighters found Stanley Nash inside, who was dead.

A woman and a dog escaped the camper, LFR said.

According to LFR, bystanders told authorities that Nash originally got out of the camper, but later went back inside before he died.

The blaze caused an estimated $5,000 in damage, but the cause is still under investigation.

An autopsy was ordered to determine the cause of Nash’s death.
