AUGUSTA, Maine (WABI) - Maine Emergency Management Agency is reminding drivers how to be best prepared for the winter.

With snow impacting the commute for many Mainers on Tuesday, MEMA has provided a list of items you can keep in your vehicle.

Among the items are jumper cables, a reflective triangle, ice scraper and brush, a charger for your car, a blanket, a flashlight with extra batteries, plus water and snacks.

MEMA is also reminding people who will be heating their homes that they should make sure their equipment is installed and working properly.

In anticipation of the storm, Governor Mills has directed that all State of Maine offices close at 12pm (noon) Tuesday.
