MONROE, La. (KNOE) - Catfish Charlie’s has become one of Monroe’s go-to spots for southern comfort food, especially when it comes to seafood made the old-fashioned way.
The restaurant’s menu features classics from crispy fried catfish and hushpuppies to gumbo that tastes like it simmered all day in someone’s kitchen.
“You’re always gonna get fresh-cooked, Gulf seafood, American farm-raised catfish, and we’re gonna put love into it. When we cook it, it’s gonna be perfect, or it’s not gonna hit their plate,” said restaurant owner Doug Wood.
Wood said the restaurant focuses on creating a family atmosphere.
