AUSTINTOWN — The man injured in an officer-involved shooting that occurred late Sunday night in Austintown is in stable condition, according to his spouse.
A spokesperson for the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigations (BCI) previously told 21 News that the suspect was taken to the hospital in "serious condition." However, the suspect's wife now told 21 News Monday morning his condition is now stable.
The spouse identified the suspect to 21 News as Jacob Hall, a 33-year-old corrections officer for the Northeast Ohio Correctional Center. Hall, who was named the NEOCC's corrections officer of the year in 2023, has a history of mental health struggles, she said.
