LEBANON, Ore. - A tragic motorcycle crash claimed the life of a Sweet Home resident on November 29.

According to the Linn County Sheriff’s Office, the crash occurred near the 32200 block of Bellinger Scale Road. A 2007 Yamaha motorcycle, ridden by Lani Lill, 53, left the roadway and traveled 190 feet into a ditch, ultimately striking a tree.

Lill was found in the bushes and pronounced dead at the scene by medics from the Lebanon Fire District. Investigators believe alcohol and speed played a role in the crash.

The Linn County Sheriff’s Office received support from the Lebanon Fire District and the Linn County Medical Examiner’s Office during the investigation.
