ST. PAUL, Minn. (GRAY) – Minnesota Governor Tim Walz defended his track record over the weekend amid a series of attacks on social media from President Donald Trump.

The president first posted about the issue on Truth Social a little over a week ago, saying that under Walz the state had become a “hub of fraudulent money laundering activity.” The president went on to call for the revocation of Temporary Protected Status, or TPS, for Somali Minnesotans.

Walz pushed back on the president’s sweeping accusations against the state’s Somali population later in the week.

“To target an entire community, try and extrapolate from this, people who are here, legally fleeing Civil War, living in Minnesota, that’s not helpful,” said the governor at an event on Tuesday.
