CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) -Amazon’s Cleveland delivery station sorted 70,000 packages today and will sort even more in the coming days as Cyber Monday orders hit.
The facility spans an area equivalent to three football fields to accommodate the massive demand during the holiday season.
“We are expected to do nearly double volume that we’re used to and it’s going to be record-breaking volume for this building,” said Erika Morales, Amazon operations manager.
Package journey from purchase to delivery
When customers buy an item, the order goes to a fulfillment center where it is packed and sent to a sorting center. Items are organized by location before heading to delivery stations like the one in Cleveland.
