Penn State’s newest impact skill player has been on a roll the past two games.
Tight end Andrew Rappleyea caught a short touchdown pass against Nebraska and a 53-yarder in the Nittany Lions’ 40-36 win over Rutgers in Piscataway, N.J. on Saturday.
Two games. Two touchdowns. Rappleyea’s first touchdowns of the season.
Rappleyea and quarterback Ethan Grunkemeyer connected on a fourth-and-two play on Penn State’s first touchdown drive. The tight end also got a great block from true freshman wideout Koby Howard.
“(The Scarlet Knights) were in Cover 0 and then they thought … (we were) probably just going to run the ball,” Grunkemeyer said of Rappleyea’s touchdown catch afterward.
“(I) came out of it, just saw him kind of uncovered. Just gave him a chance to go make a play.”
