A New Orleans safety and permits official who was suspended has been reinstated, according to her attorney, Justin Schmidt. Advertisement
Devra Goldstein was suspended without pay in April after she and her attorney claimed she blew the whistle on issues within the department.
Goldstein and the city of New Orleans reached a definitive settlement of all claims between parties, which reinstates her to her pre-termination position within the New Orleans Department of Safety and Permits.
At the time of her termination, Goldstein was the sole commercial building inspector employed by the city.
She will resume her former employment with the city in that same position on Dec. 8.
