GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Snow's out, snow guns out.
As West Michigan picks up from its first major storm of the season, local winter sports areas are breathing a sigh of relief. That includes Cannonsburg Ski Area in Kent County.
"We've been preparing for months for this," said the Marketing Director Danielle Musko. "The cold temperatures are what we always look for, because we make our own snow. So these temperatures right now. I mean, it's like icing on the cake for us.
It's the same sense of optimism in Muskegon, where you can find the local Muskegon Luge Adventure Sports Park Executive Director Jim Rudicil.
"We're taking advantage of it and packing in base, getting our trails ready, packing in the rinks, getting the ice skating rinks ready," he said.
