MADISON, Wis. — Wisconsin Elections Commission approved The City of Madison's request Monday to adjust when it prints election materials after the commission found a 'confluence of errors' led to 193 absentee ballots going uncounted in the 2024 presidential election.

In 2024, poll books were printed three weeks before Election Day. A July WEC investigation concluded that meant that the "pollbooks did not have the most recent current official registration information, especially with respect to who had returned absentee ballots." In August, the commission ordered the city to update several procedural and administrative rules.

Part of that ordered Madison to print poll books no earlier than the Tuesday before Election Day. However, in November, the city's new clerk requested an adjustment
