INDIANAPOLIS — As Indiana House lawmakers met for the start of the 2026 legislative session , dozens of Hoosiers stood outside House Chamber doors protesting redistricting efforts.

13News talked to voters from across the state and the political spectrum who wanted to voice their displeasure with redrawing Indiana’s congressional maps .

Voters heard from state lawmakers and voting advocacy groups just hours after lawmakers released the proposed map they’ll be voting on.

Amy Courtney, executive director of MADVoters, called it a “failure of transparency.” Many expressed frustration at just now seeing the proposed map and feel lawmakers drew it “behind closed doors.”
