SAINT PAUL, Minn. — The man once at the helm of the Minneapolis Chamber now admits to his role in an embezzling scheme that ultimately funded a lavish lifestyle.
Perhaps symbolically, the count the feds made Jonathan Weinhagen plead guilty to in this plea deal was mail fraud — the charge corresponding with the money he stole that was supposed to help solve the high-profile shootings of three Minneapolis children. But he will be held accountable for more than $213,000 worth of theft.
In 2021, Weinhagen stood alongside family members of three child victims of shootings in Minneapolis.
"The business community has rallied together to create a $30,000 fund, a reward of up to $10,000 per case for information leading to the arrests of these individuals," Weinhagen said at a press conference
