HENDERSON, Ky. (WFIE) - On Wednesday around 5:35 a.m., dispatch received a call for a gunshot victim on Marshall Avenue in Evansville.

That’s where EPD found three people shot, including 17-year-old Josiah Madrid.

He died from his injuries, and his community in Henderson is devastated.

Pastor Jason Cowan and youth pastor Zebb Cowan say their church is doing what they can to help.

“When I heard the news, it was super devastating, I was speechless, and especially being so close to the holidays, it’s just one of those things you hope they get the information wrong,” Zebb stated.

Josiah was an active member of The Bridge Church and its youth group.
