The Aurora Police Department fired a patrolman on Monday after he was arrested last week in connection with a domestic violence incident.
Aurora officer Philip Sullivan was arrested Wednesday on a misdemeanor charge of third-degree assault after an incident at his home in Westminster, according to an Aurora police news release posted on X.com. Sullivan also was charged with harassment, obstruction, resisting arrest, failure to leave a premis and prohibited use of a weapon, according to the news release.
Sullivan was hired as a patrolman in January, the news release said. The department is conducting an internal administrative investigation.
