PAINESVILLE, Ohio — Tributes from across Lake County have poured in for Commission President Richard J. Regovich , as community leaders, elected officials, nonprofit organizations and regional partners remember him as a steady, compassionate public servant whose impact stretched far beyond politics.

The 59-year-old sitting commissioner died Wednesday after a battle with cancer.
