A holiday favorite is back at the Hotel Captain Cook in downtown Anchorage. Visitors are raving about the gingerbread village, calling it absolutely stunning.
“Second year that we've made it up here for the holidays. And this is a highlight for us. It's really fun and full of Christmas spirit,” said Anne Connelly.
Students from the University of Alaska Anchorage, along with the hotel’s pastry program, built this year’s display.
“We're really happy to be doing it. It takes a lot of candy and modeling chocolate, but the main thing is the royal icing—lots of powdered sugar,” said Anastasia, one of the creators.
This year’s theme is Christmas Town.
