MINNEAPOLIS, Minnesota — It's been 20 years since the National Retail Federation (NRF) first coined the term " Cyber Monday ." It's gone on to become the largest online shopping day of the year.

Adobe Analytics estimates that despite an uncertain economy, Americans will spend $14.2 billion online for Cyber Monday — 6.3% more than in 2024.

Shopping on the go has never been easier with stores right at consumers' fingertips. But it wasn't that long ago that it was a much different story.

The decade or so leading up to the first Cyber Monday included the launches of Amazon, eBay, and retailers like Walmart getting in on online shopping.
